IOW is a great place for anyone to visit from couples, families and honeymooners all looking a special time. The scenery is lovely, and their is plenty of history to absorb, and lots to remember on the Isle of Wight. The items on the following list are some of the best places to visit whilst staying on this lovely island.
1. The Isle of Wight Steam Railway is world-famous. It is a great attraction for everyone of all ages and is manned entirely by volunteers. It is not surprising, because you can experience a true blue steam locomotive and rich railway cafe. A journey on the railway is perhaps one of the best ways to glimpse the beauty of this island.
2. Ryde Castle is an excellent place to visit with its interesting architecture, said to have been originally commissioned by Henry VIII. The Castles original purpose was to defend Spithead and other areas from attack or invasion by the Spanish.

Paleontologists love to come here, but it also has mass appeal to people of all ages and interests. The museum opened its doors in 2001, and claimed to be the first of its kind anywhere in the UK.
4. If you want relaxation then travel over to Shanklin Chine. Many tranquil moments are guaranteed in this special place on the island. Rare varieties of vegetation and wildlife can be seen here, and the waterfall is not to be missed.
5. The island is famous for its speedway team the Islanders which is a great attraction for locals and mainlanders alike. Every year, many race goers come here to see some great action.
