Exploring to London from Watford

Anyone who is not from London will probably find Watford, England, a town in the northwest, to be a bit odd. Watford is the marking point, some have said for civilization. In English the word Watford, which is the name of a town, is often heard used as a word meaning the start of a village of unsophisticated people . It stands to reason that that is what educated higher class English folk of London and cities south of Watford think. Another expression, the Watford Gap, is used to describe an imaginary line straight down the town of Watford. However, Watford does not fall within the low class community which it designates. People who live north of Watford, who are also considered to be less than appropriate, can be referred to as too. The term goes back a few hundred years and has become very common in London. What is interesting is that Watford is only 14 miles north of London and is called a commuter town. In fact, [[lots of|many people who work in London actually reside in Watford.|Many of the working folk of London live in Watford.} Some would call it a bedroom community due to its location to London. Watford is only 5.6 miles at its widest point.

London and Waterford are really not very different, though London has a very different history. Just like London, driving is a misery in Waterford too. It would appear to most people that the commute from Waterford to London should be fast and easy, especially since it is so close. It is normally a 5 minute walk to the subway, or tube station, as they call it in London. But, since you have to stop several times on the way to London, it takes an hour to get in the city. Some people opt to take the train into the city. A train takes a 30 minute walk to the station and then another 30 minute ride, as this train is scheduled for 2 stops on its trip to London. Watford hotels hope that becoming increasingly a commuter town, the English government will reconsider its transportation options for Watford to London.

The town of Watford came into being in the beginning of the 19th century because a free school got put there. The mission of this school was to help poor people learn how to care for their bills and finances. It eventually turned into a school for girls and boys. }Ultimately, the London Orphan Asylum was founded in the same spot. A residential neighborhood is now built on the location of the orphanage. The name of the road that runs through the neighborhood is Orphanage Road. Watford is essentially a quaint town on the outskirts of London with transport to the airports and the downtown London spots.
