Best of all for shopaholics Lanzarote is a duty free zone so it´s much cheaper to buy holiday souvenirs here.
Sick of having your holidays at home ruined by the weather? There´s little chance of that happening on Lanzarote as the island is situated in close proximity to the West African coast. Temperatures throughout the seasons range from a low of the mid 20′s celsius and 30′s mid summer so it’s possible to enjoy sunbathing on the beach here even on Christmas Day.
Lanzarote is a real beach lover’s paradise. There are close to 100 great beaches to explore and nearly all of them boast golden sands rather than the black grains prevalent elsewhere in the Canaries on islands including neighbours such as Tenerife. There are also of course some superb stretches of sands in all of the three main resorts on the island. And if that isn’t sufficiently stimulating then take in the many works of the well known local artist César Manrique, who worked with this surreal terrain to create a series of seven unique visitor attractions such as the Jameos del Agua and the Mirador Del Rio.
