Airline Safety: What is the Safest Seat in an Airline?

August 13th, 2010 by admin Leave a reply »

A query normally asked by nervous aircraft passengers is this: What is the most secure seat in an airplane? The answer: not one. Considering the fact that catastrophes and crashes can erupt at any area inside of the airplane.

Some individuals are of the viewpoint that the nearer an individual is seated to an emergency exit, the more secure one is. Sadly, that is not totally true. A fire can start near the emergency exit as in any area inside of the plane. And if the emergency exit is blocked, then the person sitting down nearest to it is in as much of the same fix as the individual sitting farthest from it.

Regardless of wherever the traveler is seated inside the airplane, the hazards to ones safety is drastically decreased by one thing above all else: by staying alert and mindful of ones surroundings.

Staying alert would mean being watchful and attentive. Be aware the site of all exits. Pay attention to all pre-flight and in-flight instructions. Do not consume too much alcohol, if any. Use common sense and try not to do things that could be unfavorable to your own safety, as well as to that of other people, such as possessing too many or too heavy carry-on luggage, spilling hot drinks, being reckless with sharpened objects or items with sharpened edges, and the like. Once more, use common sense.

Airline accidents are uncommon, despite the fears and misgivings encompassing airplane travel. But if one really does take place during the flight journey, it is extremely important for the traveler to stay calm and not to be scared. Fear is a tremendously contagious disease. Many deaths in accidents, even those which took place on solid ground, may have been prevented had the panic been contained. So, in case of an incident, take a deep breath, keep the tone of your voice down and follow the line.

Truth be told there is no such thing as the safest seat in the plane. But any traveler can always make his or hers the safest seat if he or she chooses to, wherever he or she is seated. Generating the sense of safety inside of ones self, in the end, it is a mind game.
